Te Whaanga Retreat and Spa is a peaceful sanctuary nestled amongst native bush, and situated overlooking the famous surf break of Indicators, Raglan.

We were proud to create bespoke joinery for the Wharekai, located in their Canvastown. This included a custom kitchen designed as a creative space for Chef Yudai to prepare meals for guests. The kitchen features an island with ample seating, allowing guests to connect over fresh, locally sourced dishes.

The joinery was handcrafted using timber veneer cabinetry which created a unique woven paneling look at the edges. This was a process of extreme detail and patience for our team to create, and the result is stunning. 

The veneer is paired with a rendered rangehood, minimal custom timber handles, integrated appliances, a reclaimed wood floating shelf, Caesarstone and stainless steel benchtops. 

Flowing on from the kitchen is a built-in bench seat, with matching veneer for a spot to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. Additional storage is cleverly integrated beneath the seating.

Te Whaanga is the perfect place to unwind and recharge, a retreat where you can return home feeling refreshed and renewed.
